Police warning after large quantity of prescription drugs stolen - Rugby

Police in Rugby are appealing for help to trace a large quantity of drugs which have been stolen from Woodstock Pharmacy in Clifton Road, Rugby.

The drugs were stolen in the early hours of Wednesday 22 September when offenders broke into the premises at shortly after 4am by throwing a concrete slab at a window to gain entry.

Once inside they have attacked and opened a safe which contained the drugs. Approximately 20 different kinds of drugs have been stolen which are valued at approximately £3,500.

The drugs, which are available on prescription only are extremely dangerous and could even prove fatal is taken by anyone without medical advice.

Anyone with any information about the burglary, or anyone who is offered prescription drugs for sale is asked to contact PC Graham Flavell at Rugby or they can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 where the information can be given anonymously and you may be eligible for a cash reward.

Anyone finding any drugs, which they believe to be prescription drugs, is asked to hand them in to a police station, to a pharmacy or to a health centre where they can be safely disposed of.

A police spokesperson said, “We cannot stress too strongly how dangerous these drugs are if taken without proper medical advice. Even if people think they are familiar with the name of the preparation, they may be of a different strength which may react differently. People are facing serious medical consequences and possibly even death if they use these drugs without advice from a doctor or a pharmacist.”

Among the drugs stolen are: MSG (10mg, 30mg & 60mg), CONCENTRA XL (8mg) SEVERDOL (10mg) PETHEDINE (50mg) DOAMORPHINE (5mg) DURESTIC (25 patch) DIAMOPH (10mg amp & 30mg amp) DUROGESIC PATCH (25mg, 50mg, 75mg & 100mg) RITALIN (10mg) OXYCENTIN (10mg) ZOMOPH (10mg, 60mg) TEMGESIC (0.2mg & 0.4mg) DICONAL DEXEDINE SEUREDOL (20mg) PALLADONE (2.6mg)
