SNAP Roadshow Drives Anti-Drug Message to Schools in the south of the County

Pupils in the south of the County will take part in an audience with David Graham next month when he performs his SNAP (Say no and 'Phone) Natural High Roadshow.

During October David Graham will visit schools to promote healthy lifestyles, raise awareness of drug issues and inspire youngsters to use their talents to get a natural high.

Pop Idol contestant and singer Song writer David, has performed his Roadshow at over 1850 schools nationwide, with around 600,000 students being educated and entertained with music, humour and interactive competitions. Prizes are awarded to pupils willing to perform on the day. The programme is based around David's own song Natural High which has just been remixed by the Brescia Brothers and is soon to be released in 10 different countries.

The Roadshow is run in partnership with Warwickshire Crimestoppers with the programme including a section of how to 'phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, with information to help detect crimes and deter criminal behaviour.

The Natural High Roadshow won a Silver Sony Award for Public Service and has recently been awarded an Outstanding Contribution Award by Crimestoppers.

Carlisle born David has also enjoyed success as a support artist for many of today's chartbands including Ronan Keating and Big Brovas. Speaking of his Roadshow he said: "As a role model I get students to focus on the positive using their natural talents that will give them a high that no chemical ever will."

Chair of Warwickshire Crimestoppers Martin Bartlett is very supportive of the Roadshow. He said: "Being in the music business David has seen at first hand the affects drugs can have and is keen to dispel the myth that it is glamorous to take drugs. Once again I am very pleased that David is visiting the County and passing on his strong and effective message to more Warwickshire youngsters - this year to pupils in the South of the County. I would also like to thank the Coventry Building Society, Warwick and District Council and Stratford Town Trust who have sponsored the concerts."

Martin Ritchley Chief Executive of the Coventry Building Society said: "We are delighted to be supporting this very impressive campaign in schools. As a Building Society we recognise that we have a responsibility to play our part in addressing important issues affecting the communities which we serve. The Society has been involved with Crimestoppers for a number of years and we are pleased to be able to provide the prizes for this tour."
