Have your say on the future of policing in Warwickshire
People living in North Warwickshire will have the chance to hear about and comment on the future of policing in the county next week at a public consultation on the issue.
The Police and Police Authority will present the options for reform at a public meeting on Tuesday 15 November at 6.30pm at Coleshill High School, after which there will be the opportunity for questions.
County, district and borough councillors, together with representatives from the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships and the local Criminal Justice Board, have already been consulted on the proposals. Now members of the public and local community representatives are to be asked for their views in a series of meetings around the county. People can also record their views on the Police and Authority websites (www.warwickshire.police.uk and www.warwickshirepa.gov.uk).
The findings of these consultations will inform the final detailed proposals to be submitted to the Home Office on 23 December.
Chief Constable John Burbeck said:
"We are keen to hear people's views on these very important proposals which could shape the structure of policing for the next 30 years."
Phil Blundell, Chair of Warwickshire Police Authority said:
"We have an opportunity here to bring together the best of both worlds: the strength of the region and local accountability for policing in Warwickshire. We now look forward to hearing the public's views on the proposals at the forthcoming consultation around the county."
