Car Tyres Damaged, Nuneaton
More than 100 cars in Nuneaton have had their tyres punctured during two nights of damage over the Easter Weekend.
During Thursday night into Friday morning (March 25) a total of 86 cars, parked outside private addresses in 30 streets across an area stretching from Stockingford to Bucks Hill, suffered car damage.
A further 34 cars in eight streets in the town were damaged in a second spate of vandalism during Sunday night into Monday morning (March 28).
Most of the vehicles had more than one tyre punctured.
A 33 year old man was arrested on Monday morning (March 28) on suspicion of causing criminal damage to parked vehicles in Nuneaton. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Inspector Mick Boissonade at Nuneaton Police Station said, "I would urge anyone having any information regarding this spate of incidents to contact the CID at Nuneaton Police Station or alternatively contact can be made anonymously via the Crimestoppers Hotline on 0800 555111."
"We have been undertaking targeted patrols in recent weeks in areas of West Nuneaton where there have been previous reports of damage to tyres. These latest reports cover a much wider area and we do appeal to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the areas where damage has been reported to contact the police.
"We would also appeal to anyone who has private CCTV in the locality where cars have suffered tyre damage to view their tapes and contact the police if there is anything significant."
Police advise motorists who have garages to ensure their cars are put away at night time.
