Nuneaton Tyre Damage - Police Seek To Identify People
Police in Nuneaton investigating the latest spate of tyre damage to 42 vehicles in the Manor area of the town on 7 September 2005 are appealing for potential witnesses to come forward and identify themselves.
As part of the investigation police have studied many hours of CCTV footage from the area where the tyres were damaged on this latest occasion, around Edward Street, Windsor Street, Riversley Road and The Parade.
Several people were spotted in the area on the CCTV footage, between 3am - 4am on the morning of Wednesday 7 September 2005 and it is these people who police wish to speak to in order to eliminate them from their enquiries. They include a white male wearing a red dress shirt, a person wearing a hi-visibility tabard and carrying a bag and three people riding bicycles.
Detective Sergeant Martin Stephens, said. "We are keen to speak to these people in order to establish who they are and to eliminate them from our enquiries. We also want to speak to them to find out if they saw anything which may be of use to us in this enquiry. It may be something insignificant to them, but could provide a viatl clue for the police."
A 58 year old man was arrested in Nuneaton on Thursday 8 September on suspicion of causing criminal damage to motor vehicles in the area. He was released on bail pending further enquiries and will be returning to Nuneaton Police Station on 7 October 2005.
