Robbery at Rugby

Inc: 190 of January 16 Police are investigating a robbery that took place in an alley way between Wentworth Rd and Westfield in Rugby yesterday morning.

The victim was walking along the alleyway that leads onto the rear of Wentworth Rd and towards the town centre around 1100 hours yesterday, when a man grabbed her handbag from behind. The woman fell to the floor as the man ran away along the footpath. He stopped, took a purse out of the handbag, threw the bag on the ground and continued running towards the alleyway in the direction of Alfred Green Close and the Bradby Boys Club.

The victim described him as in his late 20's, slim build, medium height, wearing a dark coloured hooded top with the hood over his head, track suit bottoms or jeans.

The victim was not injured.
