Man arrested Robbery: Blockbuster store, Bilton

Incident 620 January 22 - Blockbuster Video Express, Bilton Road, Rugby.

A 21 year old man was arrested in Church Street, Rugby by officers investigating a robbery at Blockbuster Video Express in Bilton Road.

The robbery happened at 20 55 on Sunday January 22. A man walked into the store and lifted his coat to reveal a kitchen knife. He demanded cash from both tills. He escaped with around £60 cash from the tills and left the shop turning left toward Lytham Road.

As part of ongoing inquiries into the incident, CCTV camera operators spotted a suspect armed with a knife at a telephone kiosk in Church Street at around 01 25 early hours of today January 23. The man was reported to have punched another man who approached the telephone kiosk and threatened him with a knife. Police deployed to the scene arrested a 21 year old man and recovered a knife. The man is in custody at Rugby this morning awaiting questioning from officers from Rugby CID.
