UPDATE Police seize drugs in Rugby with estimated street value of £2.5 million

Roy Selby, a 41 year old man from Elm Row, Southam has (last night, 23 February) been charged with possession with intent to supply.

He will appear before Rugby Magistrates this morning where police will be requesting he is remanded in custody.

DI Andy Nolan said

"We can now confirm that the cannabis resin weighs approximately 1.2 tonnes and has a street value of approx £2.7 million. This could be the biggest ever cannabis find in Rugby."

"It is incredibly positive news for Rugby and demonstrates that Rugby Police are taking a robust stance against drugs.

PLEASE NOTE: The car was actually stopped on the A45 close to Ryton.
