Police need public's help in identifying offenders following three assaults in Rugby

Incidents 114 and 136 of Saturday 13/05/06

Police are appealing for witnesses to three assaults that occured in the early hours of Saturday 13 May in Rugby, which police believe may be connected.

The incidents all occured between 03.30 and 04.40 hours in the early hours of Saturday morning as many people were still making their way home after a night out in the town.

In the first assault, a victim was assaulted in Park Road by 4 males, 3 white, 1 black, where he was hit with a bottle. The victim suffered reddening and bruising to the right side of face.

It's believed the offenders then assaulted another victim twice in North St by punching him. The victim suffered bruising to his right cheek, and a laceration to his right ear

They are then believed to have walked into the town where they assaulted two other unknown males who were sat on a bench in Sheep St by punching and kicking them. Police are appealing for these victims to come forward as they could provide vital information on the identity of the offenders.

Police made four arrests and these men have all been bailed to reappear at the police station in June pending further police enquiries.

In the meantime, PC Adam Seymour is appealing for any member of the public who may have witnessed any of the assaults or the two victims they have not spoken to, to please come forward and contact police at Rugby on 01788 541111 x 3710 or anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.

PC Adam Seymour said "We really need the public's help in providing information on these assaults. If anyone witnessed any of these incidents we would urge them to come forward as soon as possible."
