Re-appeal for witnesses to fatal road accident B4027, Pailton near Rugby
Incident 487 - April 3 - serious injury road accident B4027 Pailton near Rugby.
Officers from Warwickshire Police road policing unit are continuing their inquiries into a road collision at 17 15 on Monday April 3.
A 67 year old male pedestrian suffered serious multiple injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Walsgrave hospital and later transferred to Coventry and Warwickshire hospital.
John GRAY, 67, of Montilo Lane, Pailton, Rugby, died in hospital on April 24.
Mr Gray was in collision with a black Ford Mondeo car driven by a 27 year old man from Coventry.
The collision happened on the B4027 at Pailton about half a mile the Lutterworth side of the junction with Montilo Lane.
The Mondeo was travelling through a traffic light controlled area at temporary roadworks.
The car was travelling from the Lutterworth direction when it was in collision with the pedestrian as he crossed the road within the roadworks.
PC 309 Mark Heath is investigating and re-appealing for witnesses.
He would particularly like to speak to the driver of a white panel/transit style van that was one of the first vehicles in the line of traffic which was travelling from Pailton toward Lutterworth and controlled by traffic signals at the roadworks.
He would also like to any other witnesses who may have been following the black Mondeo travelling toward Pailton.
