Rugby police investigate assault, Clifton Road, Rugby

Incident 43 - June 4 - Assault, Clifton Road, Rugby

A 17 year old male walking with his girlfriend was assaulted as he walked near to the Chinese takeaway on Clifton Road at 01 15 early hours of Sunday morning June 4.

It's believed the male stumbled and bumped into a Landrover parked in a bus stop.

A man and a woman approached from a nearby Pizza takeaway and started assaulting the teenager by punching and kicking him.

He managed to run off into Whitehall Road. The two offenders got into the Landrover and followed the the victim. They stopped him on the driveway of a property on Whitehall Road.

He was punched and kicked again before the male offender pushed him to the floor and further assaulted him. He then drove off in the Landrover.

The 17 year old suffered bruising and cuts and grazes to his face and head. PC 1563 Craig Stead is investigating and appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call him at Rugby police on 01788 541111.
