Drug dealer sent to prison

Twenty-nine year old Lee Thomas Coveney from Nuneaton was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court on 9 February to two and a half years' imprisonment.

DS Bob Jamieson explained "We first arrested Coveney on 8 August 2006 in Berwyn Way, Nuneaton for supplying heroin after he was found with 30 street deals in his possession when officers stopped him and made a routine search.

When he appeared at Warwick Crown Court in October 2006, he was given a drug rehabilitation order and community sentence order.

He was again was arrested on 3 November 2006 after being found in possession of heroin.

He was sentenced at Nuneaton Magistrates Court on 25 January 2007, which then invoked the breach of his original sentence.

He was imprisoned at Warwick Crown Court on 9 February to 2.5 years imprisonment.

DS Jamieson said "Although we were disappointed with the initial sentence, by continuing to target him, we have managed to achieve our aim of putting a significant street dealer in prison.
