Spring clean your home security and environmental efficiency this weekend
Police and partners will be giving away FREE energy saving light bulbs and FREE smoke detectors fitted by the Fire Service at a home security and environmental efficiency event in Stockingford this Saturday.
The event organised by PCSO Ruth Mulvany starts at 10am on Saturday 31 March at Stockingford Community Centre, Haunchwood Road, Nuneaton and lasts until around 13.00 hours.
PCSO Ruth Mulvany said "Please take this opportunity to visit the Community Centre and have a look at everything on offer. The agencies involved will have stands where you can get FREE advice on how to run your homes more efficiently and securely.
"This really will be a very informative day and one well worth visiting.
"Low cost security devices such as shed alarms, window alarms, steering locks and defensive fence toppings will be available to buy.
A representative from the Regeneration team at Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Cindy Musgrave from Warwickshire Energy Efficiency Advice Centre will be on hand to offer advice.
Sarah Lloyd, Waste Education Officer from NBBC will be available to talk to people about how you can recycle more to help the environment and Watch Manager, Tony Harris of Warwickshire Fire Service will be in attendance offering to fit free smoke detectors.
Chris Watkins, Chair of the Residents Association said "I'd recommend anyone who is interested to come along as there will be lots of free advice available. There's a strong emphasis on helping the environment and how you can save money at the same time.
"This is a really positive example of what police, partners and the community can all achieve by working together."
"We're working alongside the police and partners on a number of initiatives to improve the local community and make everyone feel safer and hopefully will be holding more events like this in future. "
