Intruders Burgle elderly Woman's Home

An 87 year old woman disturbed two intruders inside her home at Cromwell Lane, Burton Green near Kenilworth just before 22 30 on September 21.

The woman was sitting watching television in her bungalow when she looked up to find two white men in the room.

They are believed to have broken in through a bedroom window.

One of the offenders grabbed the woman’s handbag from her hand as she picked it up to prevent them taking it.

Both men ran out of the front door with the bag containing cash and credit cards.

The woman was not physically hurt but very shaken. She was treated by paramedics and did not need hospital treatment.

Both offenders were white, one was considerably taller than the other. The shorter man appeared to have a scar on his upper lip. Officers and police dogs made a search of the area and inquiries are continuing today.

The stolen bag was canvas and fawn in colour containing about £170 cash. Anyone with information is asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111. Information can be left anonymously and a reward is on offer for information that leads to the arrest and charge of offender/s.
