Silver Audi Quattro involved in Bedworth Armed Robbery

Detectives in Bedworth are appealing for witnesses to an armed robbery at 09 20 on Thursday morning October 28 outside Barclays Bank, All Saints Square.

Four men wearing hoods over thier faces and dark clothes approached a Securicor Van delivering cash to the bank. Two of the men threatened the guard with handguns and demanded cash from the vehicle.

The offenders grabbed an unknown amount of cash from the van and escaped in a silver Audi Quattro car parked in Church Walk alongside HSBC bank. The car sped off toward Newtown Road where it collided head on with a lorry before carrying on toward Coventry.

The Quattro sustained serious front end damage in the collision.

The lorry driver sustained slight injuries.

Detectives are appealing to any witnesses who saw the silver Quattro - registered KF52 SKX - either before the incident or speeding away afterwards toward Coventry with substantial damage. DS Stuart Keele is the investigating officer at Bedworth CID.

The Quattro is believed to be involved in an armed robbery at Chylesmore, Coventry on October 26. Detectives are liasing with colleagues in Coventry as part of the inquiry into both incidents.
