Bogus plumber burgles home of elderly woman
A bogus plumber called at the home of a 77 year old woman shortly before 21 00 on Thursday evening September 16.
He told the woman a neighbour’s house was flooded and he needed to come inside to turn off the water.
While inside the man stole £600 cash from a wallet before leaving saying he needed to get a spanner from the van. The offender is described as white man, aged late 20s, with curly/bushy mousy brown hair, wearing a blue bomber style jacket and blue jeans.
No vehicle was seen.
Two more burglaries at homes in Marsham Close were reported to police later in the evening.
In both burglaries, when occupants were not in the house, an offender used an instrument similar to a screwdriver to force the front door and search inside. Jewellery was stolen from one home and a miniature bottle of Scottish malt whisky stolen from the other. It is not known exactly when the houses were burgled but all three offences are being linked.
Anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in Marsham Close yesterday evening or who has any information about the burglaries is asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111- calls to this number are free and information for Warwick CID can be left anonymously.
