Attempt Robbery Stratford

Police in Stratford are appealing for witnesses after a youth armed with a knife attempted to steal a car.

The incident happened at 14 00 on Tuesday afternoon September 7.

A 67 year old man from Studley was sitting in his Mitsubishi Pajero multi purpose vehicle at the Cattle Market car park in Alcester Road, when a youth approached the vehicle and shouted at him to get out. He shouted: “Get out, Give me your Car”.

There was a short struggle and the man sustained a cut to his thumb before punching the offender who ran off across cattle market in the direction of the Maybird Centre. The offender is described as white, aged about 18, slim, short untidy dark hair, clean shaven wearing a black and white jacket, jeans and brown suede trainers.

He was carrying a four inch knife with a black handle. A set of keys have been recovered at the scene by police, possibly dropped by offender. One of the keys is a spare key for a Citroen Zsara or a Citroen Saxo.

Police are seeking further information about the keys and witnesses to the incident. The victim was very shaken after the incident. Detectives at Stratford are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111.
